Those are the two cities I get asked about on almost every first call, and the answer is yes to both.

Past those two, anywhere in the US. Finding and vetting the local crew, the gear, and the locations is the actual job, and it's mine, not yours. Give me a city and a date. You'll get a crew list and a number back.

If you are asking because I am not local to you

Fair question, and it comes up on almost every first call. Honest answer: a producer being local matters way less than it sounds. What matters is whether the crew is local, whether the gear came from a house that answers the phone, and whether somebody's run this kind of shoot before.

On your end the difference is usually nothing. Most of my producing is remote at $950 a day, with a local lead on set. If your shoot actually needs a producer in the room, that's $1,250 plus a travel day, and I'll tell you straight which one yours is.
